Enhancing Cycling Safety with the Compact TX677 Radio
The TX677 radio is very good. I use it to add safety to my cycling. I regularly ride my push-bike with other riders. We ride in a single file, around corners in built-up city areas, one after the other in a long line. I am the first push-bike rider in this line and also the ride leader setting the speed and direction we take. In a large group, I cannot see the last or tail end rider or the riders near them in my mirror. I can only presume no one is making a wrong turn or having a problem as we ride, unless the tail-end rider calls out and this call is reliably passed down the line of the other riders to me. Not everyone passes on calls. Even if they are meant to. I found small, lightweight, cheap, low powered (1-2 watt), reliable, hand-held, CB radios (like the TX677) used by the ride leader at the front of the line and another used by the tail-end rider at the back of the line, can be useful to call each other around corners without relying on the calls being accurately passed down the line of riders. This adds an extra layer of ride safety in a large group. There are several design features I like. The TX677 radio is easily carried on a push-bike by simply clipping it on to a lanyard worn around the user's neck or easily placing it in a handlebar or top tube bag of the push-bike. The TX677 radio can easily be operated using only one hand with the other hand firmly on the handlebar. I also like how the on/off knob/switch is marked so I can easily set the volume before we set out. Some brands do not mark their volume controls. I also like how this brand has so few buttons yet is full featured. I can give the radio to a complete radio novice and have them immediately talk to me without much instruction. I found the ride leader and tail end rider can now talk to each other using the TX677 radio improving safety for all.

Quality Build and Surprising Performance with a Few Improvement Suggestions
The build quality is excellent and the performance was actually surprising. The dual charge station is great. The large on/volume knob is easily accessible although it could have more turn resistance as it's too easy to bump it and lose volume. There a couple of other things that would improve the product considerably. Firstly, the belt clip. I bet there are a lot of people who have dropped or even lost a unit because of lack of clip tension. I bumped mine off my belt twice and once was beside a river. There's actually a large gap between the clip and the unit. I think GME should make new clips asap and send them free of charge to anyone who has registered their product. The transmission button should be more pronounced. It is impossible to find with gloves on in winter. Lastly, there were no instructions in the box and I can't find any online. A hard copy quick guide is essential especially given we use these things off grid (no internet). Ideally it be quick start would be laminated or water resistant.

High-Quality Portable Radio for Offroad Adventures
Pleasantly surprised with this lightweight unit. Excellent sound quality and reception, even in a suburban environment with many. many large buildings offering no line of sight over a 1km distance. Purchased from Anaconda with their bonus gift of $20 off any purchase. Definitely a worthy addition to my offroad/caravaning essentials.

Top-Quality Radios for Peace of Mind on the Acreage
I am a senior with health issues living on acreage which requires working in the paddock. These excellent quality radios provide me with confidence should I need to contact my wife in the event of an emergency. A truly well made product from an Australian company. This is by far the best radio that I have ever purchased - definitely not a toy.

Compact and Powerful Handheld Radios for Easy Communication
For the price of these radios, they're brilliant! People always think that if you have a car-mounted UHF then you're all good, but when it comes to spotting someone else or even someone spotting you, ya kinda need a little handheld to get it done properly. These 2 watt'ers are perfect for just that, and even perfect for those that don't have a car-mounted UHF but still need to communicate in a small convoy. Big thumbs up!

Compact and Reliable Radios for Outdoor Adventures
Nice little radios. My wife and I are trampers with different strengths, me on the uphills and her on the flat. So we get a small distance apart sometimes. Also we have just started volunteer servicing stoat traplines in our local national park. #predatorfree2050. In dense forest--and NZ has some *dense* forest, not like some other countries--we can easily communicate over a kilometre or two using high power on these radios. They have already saved us a couple of hours of tramping back and forth to check on each other. The peace of mind is great! The radios' sound is crisp and clear. Battery life is great. Although not rated IP67, they seem to shrug off light rain so far. Nice old school user interface, everything works well. The button lock is particularly appreciated. So is the fact that the batteries can be replaced whenever we need to. GME's tutorial videos are great, too. Thanks for making those! It'd be ideal if the radios came with reflective patches on the back, front, and clip. Maybe the antenna too. Drop something black in the bush at night, it can be pretty hard to find. Tape doesn't stick for long. Next version?
