GME and Owl Cyber Defense Partner in APAC to Deliver Advanced Cyber Security Products

GME and US company Owl Cyber Defense have deepened their partnership announcing GME as Owl’s Asia Pacific distributor and support services partner for Owl’s cyber security products within the Defence, Government and Commercial sectors. The partnership will deliver Owl products in both Australian and Asia Pacific markets, provide local support services and bolster Owl’s US-based manufacturing supply chain. The GME/Owl partnership exemplifies the achievement of AUKUS Pillar 2 industrial objectives through US-Australian collaboration, delivering advanced cyber systems options to the ADF.

Owl Cyber Defense is a global leader and trusted partner in cyber security, delivering solutions that protect and connect the world’s most critical networks. Owl’s product lines of cross domain, data diode, and portable media solutions provide the strongest available security checkpoints for threat prevention and secure data availability. These products include Common Criteria certified and U.S. Government accredited, ‘Raise The Bar’ compliant appliances which are essential to the safe connection and collaboration between partner nation coalition and joint operations networks.

“Owl Cyber Defense has been a global leader and trusted partner in cybersecurity for 25 years, safeguarding the world’s most critical networks,” said Scott Orton, CEO of Owl Cyber Defense. “Expanding our sales and servicing capabilities within Australia is key to our ongoing contribution to AUKUS nation network security.  GME’s technical expertise and secure electronic manufacturing capabilities ensure that we can meet the needs of our Australian customers.”

GME is an Australian-owned and Sydney-based engineering and manufacturing company specialising in electronics, telecommunications, SATCOM, antenna and radio frequency engineering. With a 65-year history providing Australians with reliable radio communications and emergency beacons for use at sea and on the land, in all weather and terrain, the company has made significant investments to deliver advanced engineering and manufacturing services to the Defence sector. With the 2022 commissioning of a Defence-certified Zone 4 secure manufacturing capability, GME now services Government and Defence Prime clients’ most sensitive manufacturing requirements. Extending GME’s offer to cyber security systems was the logical next step. “Realising the Joint Force’s C4I Design, particularly Defence’s aspirations for Warfighter Networks and Applications, requires best of breed security appliances, interoperable with our AUKUS partners. The GME/Owl partnership will deliver such capabilities cost effectively and with timely, sustainable local support”, said Chris Rule, GME’s General Manager – Defence Security and Resilience.

“Our partnership with Owl Cyber Defense further elevates GME’s Defence and national security offer and reinforces our Board’s commitment to providing the ADF with advanced capabilities, supported locally.

“I’m confident this partnership will deliver state of the art cyber security options to Defence, at a speed now accelerated by Government-driven changes to export licensing requirements between the US, Australia and the UK. GME and Owl are realising AUKUS Pillar 2 industrial objectives now.”
