Great little UHF radio. Upgraded the car and didn't have time to install a hard-wired UHF, so bought this for an interim solution for a 4wd trip. Never failed. great unit with more power than I gave it credit for. Small enough to tuck away in the car when not in use and holds battery charge like forever when not used. Great battery life when in use. Over a day's 4wd and still plenty of juice. Easy to USB charge in the car too. Love the unit and would highly recommend for anyone else wanting a cost-effective little UHF. I'll be using this everywhere. Walking, hiking, 4wd, car touring, even the boat when in lakes and on rivers (have a VHF for the bay).

We both love to go fishing and boating mainly on the Murray River. We use the GME portable radios to communicate with each other particularly when one of us leaves the boat either on water or land and the other stays behind. The units are very clear and easy to operate and are necessary for peace of mind and personal safety. We would not consider any other brand other than GME for a high quality product. Having said all that, we do wish we had purchased a higher wattage twin unit for longer range and stronger output.
