The 3 programmable buttons are genius, still playing with the best combo for my uses A little bigger than I was expecting, but I've got used to it fairly quickly. Only real annoyance is this radio doesn't accept the accessories from my TX6160, so will have to buy the speaker/microphone separately if I want it. A different charge to the TX6160 is an annoyance, can't just bring one charger for my multiple radios.

Bluetooth Connectivity Issues - Waiting for the Update

I use my XRS-660 mounted on my motorcycle and Bluetooth connection to my Sena 50S headset. I have recently purchased this XRS-660 because it is advertised as a Bluetooth radio. During use, the audio from the Bluetooth connection distorts after a few minutes of being connected to the Sena 50S. Not only that, but it causes the iPhone GPS bluetooth audio to also distort until the XRS-660 is switched off, then the GPS audio clears. I have just reported the issue to GME technical people who say it is a known problem and will be issuing a software update as soon as it can be sorted. So, my review is that it is currently not fit for purpose in its current state.

The 660 is a solid product, very sturdy and robust. I had recently used the 660 at a 24hr MX race where my brother-in-law was a rider, with very limited downtime over the 24 hours the 660 was used to communicate with the caravan for food and nutrition prep while I was driving between fuel stops with rider updates. The GPS function was a handy function between my 370c and easy to setup as a lat minute idea prior to race start. Feedback and possible ideas: adding a battery % to the top right of the screen (like the iPhone) would be a handy and quick identifier on the go, in saying that the battery lasted all 24hrs with moderate use and duel channel scanning maybe using a quarter of that battery. Also the volume turn knob, when comparing to some defence comms equipment I use, having a tactile 'click' as you turn the volume up is a more solid feel to the knob, I noticed the volume knob on the 660 would frequently be in between volumes and as the item sat untouched would be changing back and forth between volume numbers causing the screen to light up. Aside from that this product is solid!

I find one problem with the XRS 660 the range on it is shit' tried multiple things to get better range out of it' bought it to use in my truck as my truck radio is shit (turns on periodically) *not gme* run gme XRS products in all my cars never a problem' so thought it would be a brilliant investment' how ever I have not had time to fiddle with all the settings and make sure they are where they need to be' less then 1klm range currently.. not clear instructions to fix the problems in trouble shooting either, doesn't help when you have to call a site office 1klm away they can't receive you and you can't receive them, truck beside you hears you but the truck coming up the hill 400m away can't hear you and you can't hear them.

This is my third gme uhf cb radio. I had owned the TX6600S and replaced it with the new xrs-660 handheld and I own the xrs-330c mounted in my car. I'm so thrilled to support an Australian company that also make these radios to the highest standards. The xrs-660 is a fantastic radio full of features and being a radio buff has 403-520mhz but only analog. But I do have to be honest the handheld should have usb-c charging and have a printed manual, but it's not a deal breaker. I just love the fact that the xrs's are firmware upgradeable. Fantastic, I ride a motorcycle doing adventure riding offroad mostly. I set it up with an external arial, I purchased the Bluetooth remote button and clamped it to the handlers to operate while on the move without compromising safety. I have a Sena Bluetooth C10pro unit on the helmet and the XRS 660 pairs with this device with no hassle. Riding a motorcycle with better communication with the riding group and now having the ability to communicate with other vehicles in the same area makes it far safer. We communicated between riders in the mountains more then 4kms apart at times and more importantly, we heard other vehicles coming towards us. This system using the XRS 660 via the helmet communication device is 100% better than using Bluetooth/Meshing Commnication systems. 6 of us are heading to South Australia into the Flinders Ranges and 3 weeks, this has reduced our commination frustrations immensely. 10 out of 10 GME.

Kudos to GME for the release of the xrs-660 UHF CB Radio released on the 1st of February 2024. MADE IN AUSTRALIA to very high quality to Military standard. I love the general reciever 403-520mhz, there's some good listening. The radio has fantastic noise filtering so the background noise hardly exists. Maximum power is 5 watts.
